As you can see the babies exhibit a wide range of emotions and expressions in need. It's your job to fill those needs."   How to: ✦ Leave a comment with your character's name and fandom. Others will reply ✦ Congratulations, the two of you are now in charge of an Eggbaby. You can pretend it's for class or, for those who aren't in school, you can assume the baby is some sort of important mission. It is your job to take care of and keep the baby happy. If you drop the baby, you fail. You can not turn it off. Remember, this is a joint effort. This is a very important assignment that determines if you pass/fail the class or save the world. ✦ You can RNG a number between 1 and 8 to find out what kind of situation you're in. ✦ Good luck! Options: 1. Other plans. You had other plans but now you aren't sure if you can do them because of this baby. Try to convince your partner to do you a favor or else you'll have to drag the baby along with you. 2. Broke baby. Something is seriously wrong with this baby. It won't stop crying no matter what you do and you really wish this thing had an off switch. 3. Lost baby. What do you mean where's the baby? Don't you have it? Wait, you mean, you don't? FU-- WHERE'S THE BABY?! 4. Perfect baby. Your baby never cries. In fact, it doesn't really do much of anything. Wow, this project sure is easy! . . . Dude, it keeps staring at me. 5. Not my baby. This isn't your baby but you're watching it for a friend until they get back from that super important meeting. They've been gone all day and you hope they'll get back soon. 6. Twins. You're taking care of your baby and someone else's baby. (bonus option: you're taking care of another baby and another and another and another. . .) 7. MY BABYYYY! What the hell did you do? Your baby is broken. You've failed your assignment. Maybe you can put it together and no one will ever notice or try to steal someone else's baby. 8. Crack baby. Roll again, combine prompts, or make up your own scenario. ( code。)

[Caesar could take the datapads from Cesar but doesn't. He'll give him some dignity by letting him carry them himself. At worse, Cesar will drop them, and then Caesar can help him pick them up.

He walks up next to his double and put an arm around Cesar's shoulders. More of an emotional reassurance than a physical need to help him walk. Caesar speaks normally, even though he wants to lower his voice. He can't help the soft smile on his face, though.]

Let's get you into bed, and then I'll get my stuff and join you. Sound good?

*There's a slight tightening in his expression that he's too sick to hide: every inch of him aches from fever, and for a second there, that arm around his shoulders hurt. Now that the initial wave is gone, though, it'd kind of nice to have that kind of support, particularly since he can't remember the last time his parents or brother gave it... Cesar returns his thoughts to the present before they can go further down that road, but the appreciation is there.*

It does, but are you sure that's necessary? It would be more convenient for you if you stayed down here.

[Caesar would never admit to it, but it's the same sort of touch that he likes when he's sick. It's nice to be taken care of. From what he knows about his future self, that's something that hasn't happened in a long time.

Cesar's feeling rather warm. Probably from fever. All the better to get him to rest. It'd be too obvious to check his temperature while he's awake, so Caesar will just have to test it while he's asleep.]

It'll be easier to collaborate if we're in the same place, and we'll be able to double-check each other's work.

[Mostly, he'll be checking Cesar's.]

Ah.

*Without another word of protest (which is telling in itself), Cesar nods dumbly and allows himself to be steered upstairs. Now that he's already on his way, the idea of sitting on something as soft as his bed sounds wonderful...*

*Just to punctuate that they are, in fact, on the right track, Cesar sneezes again. Ugh. Good thing he has another tissue...*

[He must be really sick if he's barely protesting. Caesar walks him to the room, then towards the bed, and finally drops his arm from around his shoulders.]

Hold on a moment.

[And he starts Bending up... pillows.]

Pillows.

*Cesar stops where he is, giving the newly created a pillows a slow frown. Then he quirks an eyebrow at his twin, unimpressed.*

I don't think I need that many.

[Without missing a beat.]

It'll help you sit up at the optimum angle for work without having to exert too much strength for it.

*And the silence stretches on and that look just stays right where it is he's not buying it Caesar quick think of something else before he--*

*--takes a single pillow, props it up beside his own original one, and tiredly climbs onto the bed and leans against both of them. Oh. Maybe he did buy it, after all. Sort of.*

[Caesar simply smirks as he gets rid of most of the extra pillows. He knows he's won this argument, but he isn't going to rub it in. The other scientist is sick, so it really isn't fair. Caesar knows that his double really didn't buy it, but doesn't have the strength to argue.]

I'll be right back.

[He's going to grab his datapad and laptop.]

I'll get started, meanwhile. *More like he already has gotten started: almost as soon as he sat down he lifted a datapad, activated it, and is now refusing to even glance up at his twin as he leaves.*

*He'll be fine if he sits straight up against the pillows, using them only as the slightest support for his back. Well--maybe a bit more support, his chair downstairs was something he could lean against without worrying about falling asleep. He has to get as much work done as possible before he calls it a day, and sleep won't help that. Then again, didn't he come up here specifically so he'd be able to rest more? Wow, those pillows really are comfortable. Maybe he can relax into them just a little more...*

*By the time Caesar comes back, Cesar will have sunk completely into the two pillows, studying his data pad with his eyes half-closed. The sight of his double causes him to quickly straighten up again so that he isn't quite so comfortable, but the damage is done.*

*Time for some hasty and transparent misdirection! He points at the remaining pillows.* You forgot to send back the rest.

[Caesar shrugs. He can see the transparent attempt, but he's not going to call it. Instead, he'll divert the suggestion away.]

It'll cost more energy to Bend them away than I feel like using right now.

I'll get started on my portion.

[A lie, but he doesn't care. Caesar grabs one of the pillows for himself and uses it on his lower back to settle into the armchair. He knows he'll be a bit more comfortable there if he uses that long term.

... his other self is really sick. Caesar is actually worried enough that he glances up in concern from his work every now and then. You know you're sick wheeeeeen....]

[evowhisperer]

*... when even though your perfectly healthy alternate is watching you from across the room, you can't help but sink back into the pillows again, returning bit by bit to the state he was just in when Caesar returned. It's even harder to think up here than it was downstairs: against every decision to the contrary, his mind is trying to pack up and go to sleep without him.*

*Even the odd sneeze isn't enough to keep him awake. Some minutes tick past, and then some more, and then...*

*Suprise, surprise. Cesar is officially sound asleep.*

[Caesar relaxes a bit when he finally determines his other self to be asleep. Good. He needed his rest.

Then, he checked his watch.]

Hmm. A good five minutes sooner than I expected....

[Well, he'll get up quietly and tuck his other self into bed, also saving his progress before placing his datapad on the bedside table. He'll leave him sitting up. It's not the most comfortable position, but at least it'll help him breathe.

Then, Caesar sits back down and gets back to work. Might as well get some work done while he keeps an eye on him....]
